In today's fast-paced world, the concept of "alignment" is often overlooked, yet it is essential for living a fulfilling and purpose-driven life. Alignment is not just about physical posture or lifestyle habits; it’s about aligning your internal world—your values, beliefs, passions, and goals—with your external actions. When you are out of alignment, it’s easy to feel lost, overwhelmed, and disconnected. However, when you’re in alignment, life flows with more ease, fulfillment, and success.
Next week, I will have the pleasure of diving deeper into this topic with Amber Vilhauer, who has created an incredible platform called Infinite Impact. Amber will share her insights on alignment and how it affects not only your business but your entire life. Today, though, I want to start the conversation by exploring why so many people, particularly business owners, are out of alignment and how finding your true path can lead to profound change.
The Struggle of Being Out of Alignment
In today's society, we are bombarded with messages about what success should look like. We chase dreams that are often based on societal expectations rather than our own desires. This is especially true for entrepreneurs and business owners. They’re constantly looking for the next best thing, trying different strategies, all in the pursuit of success and wealth. But many times, what they are truly lacking is alignment with their core values and purpose.
As a coach, I’ve seen countless clients stuck in this cycle—trying every tactic under the sun without truly knowing why they are doing it. They are trying to make money, grow their businesses, and fulfill their goals, but they are out of sync with their true purpose. What they don’t realize is that when you're aligned, the right opportunities and success come more naturally. It’s not about doing more; it’s about doing the right things, those that resonate with who you are at your core.
My Own Journey to Alignment
I want to share a personal story that illustrates how powerful alignment can be. After a particularly challenging week last year, I took a break and went on a long hike. It was a moment of quiet reflection where something shifted within me. As I walked through the forest, I realized I had been living a life based on other people’s expectations—what I thought I "should" be doing rather than what I truly wanted to do.
That moment was both liberating and terrifying. It required me to let go of certain aspects of my life and step into the unknown. But once I started aligning my actions with my deepest values, I experienced a profound sense of authenticity and fulfillment. Not only did my personal life improve, but the impact I was having on others deepened. When you live in alignment with your true self, you naturally create a ripple effect that influences those around you positively.
Core Values and Business Alignment
One of the key elements in aligning your life and business is understanding your core values. I had always known my core values, but I never truly applied them to my business until I started working with Amber and her Infinite Impact program. She introduced me to the concept of integrating core values into every aspect of my business.
For instance, one of my core values is integrity. When I realized that a virtual assistant I was working with was not honoring our contract, I was faced with a choice. I could either ignore the misalignment or take action based on my core value of integrity. I chose to end the partnership because it was clear that we were no longer aligned. This decision was a turning point in my business, helping me focus more on working with people who shared my values.
Moving Forward in Alignment
The journey to alignment is not a one-time event; it’s an ongoing process of self-reflection, adjustment, and growth. As I look forward to the summit I’ll be a guest on September 11th, where I will offer more insights and alignment sessions, I encourage you to reflect on your own life. Are you living according to your core values? Are you aligned with your true purpose?
One of the most liberating things about alignment is that it allows you to stop wearing the many masks society often demands. You no longer have to be one person at work, another at home, and another with friends. When you’re aligned, you are the same person in all areas of your life. And that authenticity creates more ease, joy, and impact.
Alignment may require significant changes—letting go of what no longer serves you, embracing the unknown, and trusting your inner guidance. But the rewards are immense. When you live in alignment with your true self, you’re not just living—you’re thriving, and your impact on others will grow exponentially.
Stay tuned for next week’s deeper dive with Amber Vilhauer, where we will explore how to create infinite impact through alignment. Until then, take a moment to assess where you are and where you want to be. Alignment is not just the key to personal success, but to making a lasting impact in the world.
